SUMMARY:Boise Goathead Fest
DESCRIPTION:Boise Goathead Fest! \nPresented by the Boise Bicycle Project\, New Belgium Brewing\, Radio Boise KRBX 89.9 FM\, and the Original 2018 Boise Goathead Fest Ambassadors (could be you)! \nwww.boisegoatheadfest.com \nOn August 3-4 2018\, Boise will launch the world’s first and only Goathead Festival! \nFor years\, the Goathead Monster has plagued the bicycle community. Rides have been ruined\, tires have been trashed\, and punctures have permeated our pedal powered lives. But now the monster’s had a change of heart. Instead of popping tires on August 3rd and 4th\, Boise’s most despised invasive specie will be giving back to Boise’s bicycle nonprofits and lending its hand in transforming Boise into the Bicycle Capital of America. \nBoise Goathead Fest consists of 3 major pedal-powered events. \n-BGF Kickoff Party presented by Radio Boise KRBX 89.9 FM. Friday 4-10pm in Cecil D Andrus Park.\nFeaturing:\nSummer Cannibals (Portland)\nProject Flux (Boise)\nCello Joe (Berkeley) & his bike-powered sound system\nEleven & Jason D (E&J) (Boise)\nelevenandjasond.bandcamp.com\nDJ Jason D of The Wreck on Radio Boise \n-Pedal Powered Parade. Saturday 10am Parade Registration Party. 11am Parade Launch. All at the State Capitol Steps. \n-Boise Goathead Fest! 12-5pm in Cecil D Andrus Park. Featuring Local Beer\, Beverages\, Food\, Music\, Entertainment\, and a Grand Finale that will knock your Pedal-Powered socks off.\nFeaturing:\nWet City Rockers (Seattle)\nJuice (Boise)\nThe Dance Commander\nBike Dance-Off!\nPsych Sirens of Radio Boise\nThe Glitter Projects kiddo body art engagement\nProject Flux kiddo dance engagement \nThis year\, 100% of proceeds from the parade and festival directly benefit bicycle nonprofits from Boise and beyond. Boise Bicycle Project\, Southwest Idaho Mountain Bike Association\, Treasure Valley Cycling Alliance\, Land Trust of the Treasure Valley\, Idaho Walk Bike Alliance\, and Dirt Dolls. \nLeading into BGF. The Boise Bicycle Project has teamed up with the Boise Parks and Recreation to manifest a massive goathead collection initiative. From July 6th to July 31st we’ll be challenging the community to collect and bag as many goathead plants as possible and drop them off at the Boise Bicycle Project\, North End Organic Nursery. A beer/beverage token will be given to every individual that shows up with a trash bag full of goathead plants (limit 1 token per individual). And prizes will be awarded for individuals and teams who collect the most. \nGoathead collection details here.\nhttps://www.boisegoatheadfest.com/goathead/ \nThis event would not be possible with out the generous support of countless folks like you and community-minded organizations in Boise. \nSpecial shoutout to New Belgium Brewing\, Hayden Beverage Company\, Drake Cooper\, Bittercreek Alehouse\, Dawson Taylor Downtown\, Boise Weeklyand Radio Boise KRBX 89.9 FM for creating this event.
